Creighton, football student-athletes return to Detroit for MAC media day

DETROIT, Michigan (EMUEagles.com) – After a year-long hiatus, the Mid-American Conference and its member schools once again filled the Ford Field lobby for the second and final day of the league’s annual media day today, July 20.

The eight-year-old head coach participated in the football program at Eastern Michigan University. Chris Creighton, with seniors Thomas odukoya (Almere, Netherlands-Helen Parkhurst (Garden City)) and Rush of Turan (Charleston West Side, W. Va.-Capital (Antelope Valley)). The trio were also in Motor City last night, July 19, for a handful of events surrounding Media Day. Highlights of Monday’s schedule included meetings with MAC management and a trip to the Fowling Warehouse, where Odukoya and Rush faced off against other players from across the league.

The first event of the conference exit took place today, as it hosted members of the outside media from across the country and officially kicked off the MAC 2021 football festivities. Creighton and Rush started their morning with a stint on ESPN3, where Michael Reghi and Dustin Fox asked the duo about the upcoming season and the expectations surrounding the team. Creighton touched his experienced roster, while Rush pointed out that his energy was a key trait in his game.

The day was officially opened by Dr Jon Steinbrecher, the league commissioner, who spoke to a sea of ​​cameras and journalists and delivered his annual press conference. The main topics of the address included information regarding current COVID-19 protocols, as well as the name, picture and likeness. Following the Commissioner’s press conference, Creighton, Odukoya and Rush were visited by several reporters from the state of Michigan and the region that encompasses the MAC.

Appearances with Cleveland.com, Sirius Radio, and WJR Radio continued Creighton’s busy stretch as the gaming duo sat down for an appearance on the MAC’s official podcast, Call to MACtion. The trio did numerous other structured interviews and content recordings with media and conference officials before ending the afternoon.
